Historical Significance:        
This elm tree was planted in memory of George Washington, first president of United States of America. The Yuma Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places. The tree was replaced in 2019. The text of the original plaque reads, “This elm tree planted in memory of George Washington [unreadable text].” The second plaque reads, “Dedicated to celebration of U.S. Consitution Bicentennial 1787 1987 [unreadable text].”
