Historical Significance:
The flagpole was given to the Mohave County Library, Lake Havasu City Branch, on July 3, 1999, and on Flag Day of the following year, the DAR marker was placed. Havasu Chapter, NSDAR, presented this flagpole as an enhancement gift to the library. It honors the work the chapter has done to sponsor essay contests to support literacy in education, one of the objectives of DAR.
